Most things don't shake you much. And when opinions split, you usually go along with what the other person wants.
You don't even think of it as giving in. You just think, 'It's simpler this way,' and go along without a second thought.
So people feel at ease with you, but for a long time no one finds out what you actually want.
What you're good at
You calm people down before an argument grows. Few people stay steady and give way at the same time, so even when everyone is on edge, what you say is taken just as you meant it.
What you often hear
- “Don't you ever get angry?”
- “Stop saying anything is fine.”
What wears you out
The tiredness catches up with you very late. You keep going along without noticing you're holding back, until one day you think, 'Why don't I want to see them anymore?', and your feelings about the whole relationship cool.
For the people around you
You don't fight with the people close to you, but you don't get much closer either. They have no way of knowing when you were hurt, so even when things are going fine, they feel, 'It's hard to get any closer to this person.'
Worth trying
You need practice choosing what you want. Start with small things like what to eat and say "I'd like this," and when something important comes up, it will be much easier to say what you think.
